penilaian pendengaran dan digunakan untuk mengenal pasti keupayaan pendengaran seseorang individu. Justeru, ujian ini bertujuan untuk diagnosis pendengaran dan menentukan pengurusan masalah pendengaran yang sesuai. <\/p>\n<p>Memandangkan audiometri nada tulen ialah ukuran tingkah laku pendengaran, adalah sukar untuk mendapatkan keputusan yang tepat bagi kanak-kanak di bawah umur 6 tahun dan orang dewasa yang tidak bekerjasama. Maka, ujian lain adalah disyorkan. Ia biasanya digunakan bersama dengan audiometri nada tulen untuk menentukan tahap dan jenis kehilangan pendengaran. <\/p>\n<p>Ujian diskriminasi pertuturan juga menilai ketidakselesaan atau toleransi terhadap bunyi pertuturan dan maklumat tentang kebolehan pengecaman perkataan. Kanak-kanak dengan CAPD tidak dapat memproses bunyi dengan cara yang sama seperti kanak-kanak lain kerana ketidakupayaan otak dan sistem pendengaran untuk saling bekerjasama. CAPD sering dikaitkan dengan kesukaran pembelajaran dan memerolehan bahasa peringkat tinggi dan kesukaran untuk berkomunikasi. Penilaian CAPD menentukan ukuran kecekapan otak dalam mengaitkan makna pada bunyi pertuturan atau persekitaran yang didengar.
