If you think you have a hearing loss and could benefit from a hearing aid, visit your physician, who will refer you to an otolaryngologist (ENT doctor) or a certified audiologist*. An otolaryngologist is a physician who specializes in ear, nose, and throat disorders and will investigate the cause of the hearing loss. An audiologist is a hearing health professional who assess and diagnose hearing loss and manage the hearing loss with appropriate intervention and devices.* a certified audiologist in Malaysia needs to have a Bachelor/Masters Degree in Audiology or Speech and Hearing Sciences from National University of Malaysia or an overseas university
We believe that a hearing aid will improve your quality of life – that’s why we will guide you every step of the way:
We will do a hearing test by presenting you with tones or speech stimuli and plotting the result in an audiogram. This tells us what type and degree of hearing loss you have in each ear. Should your hearing loss require surgical attention, you will be referred to an ENT doctor. If your hearing loss can be assisted with hearing devices, your audiologist will discuss and explain to you the hearing aid technology that suits your lifestyle.
During your hearing aid evaluation, you have the option to try hearing aids suitable to your hearing loss in the clinic. Various factors such as your needs, your lifestyle, type and degree of hearing loss, anatomy of your ears, and preferences will be taken into account. In addition to helping you choose the right hearing device, your audiologist will provide advice, encouragement and support throughout your hearing journey through regular follow-ups and technical assistance.
Should you require additional listening devices, we will provide you advice and guide you in your purchases of these devices, such as FM systems, assistive listening devices, and remote controls.
